I frequent another forum and there is an Iranian on there who has been updating us and they are in need of a proxy. I was wondering if anyone from here would be able to go there and PM them? reply here if you’re interested, or message me, or email me at electric.porcupine(at)gmail.com

I would do this myself but I only have a netbook and I don’t think it will be fast enough to setup a proxy on.

I PM’d them asking if they needed anything and wishing them well, their reply:

If twitter is such a threat against the regime why haven’t they blocked the internet?
I realise that bloking the internet could also mean blocking the telecommunication.

Seventy university professors were detained in Iran in a widening government crackdown on protesters, according to a Web site affiliated with Iran’s key opposition figure, Mir Hossein Mousavi, who says he was robbed of victory in a rigged presidential election.

The professors were detained on Wednesday, immediately after meeting with Mousavi, said the Kalemeh site, which is affiliated with the opposition leader. The report said it is not clear where the detainees were taken.

The gathering of June 24th in front of Parliament, Baharestan Sqr. Tehran, Iran, ended up in murder of a number of innocent people. A witness reports of seeing militia pushing a couple of guys and throwing them down from “Saadi” bridge. Visual proofs in picture and video clip formats are uploaded in facebook, showing a 19 year old teenager murdered by basij militia.

My friend’s sister, who participated in the last Saturday, 21st of June, gathering, reports of being ambushed by militia in a dead-end in a group of about 7 people. They call for one of the boys among them to step forward. The boy goes ahead and a guy points out his pistol to his head and shoots. The boy’s brain spills out in front of their eyes and then they start biting others with baton and cable. The poor girl who is severely injured is now at home struggling with a more serious problem: forgetting what she saw.

Is there anyway to assess the health of Internet access in Iran at this point? There’s a great deal of speculation as to how well connected to the outside the country is at this point, and if we’re not hearing from Iranian sources because they don’t have access to Twitter/Facebook/email at all at this point.

Pardon any rudeness(or damn pointlessness), this is my first post, but this article has me pissed off. I mean, the blatantly inaccurate claims throughout are just god damn frustrating.
