In this video, one of hundreds filmed during last Monday’s demonstration, an enraged woman’s voice can be heard as a paramilitary truck runs a motorbike off the road amid a crowd of fleeing protesters:

"This is the Islamic Republic!" She shouts, gesturing at the vehicle.

This message has grown increasingly common in recent protest, as demonstrators have made it clear that their target is not Ahmadinejad, or the disputed election that returned him to power in June, but the entire foundation of Iran’s theocracy.

Question about effects on internet shutdown

It is widely reported that internet has been shut down in Tehran and perhaps some other places. Does the government give exception to like businesses and academia (albeit through intense monitoring)? It seems to me a lot of things would be at a standstill without the internet especially for businesses and research projects that require frequent e-database access.
