Khamenei’s wife shares two major traits with the French queen.
First, she belongs to a man never elected to office by the people. Secondly, she also lives the high life even while knocking the naivete of those true believers (bunch of suckers) who make it all possible. Her mocking attitude toward demonstrators recalls the most famous quote from that French queen ("If they want bread, let them eat cake.")
Imelda Marcos became famour for her ostentatious spending in a poor country–hundreds of designers shoes, purses and underware. When it comes to living in high style Ms. Khamenei makes Imelda Marcos look like a K-mart shopper.
Recently Ms. Khamenei was overheard complaining that she couldn’t imagine exchanging her present lifestryle for exile in some small Lebanese village. I gather that is a perfectly good reason to continue beating, torturing, jailing and raping the Iranian people. Can’t give up those goodies, can we, Mrs. Khoumeini?
